ETHANOL DEHYDRATION

Ethanol forms a water azeotrope that prevents it being dried by an ordinary fractionation.
The most common methods for the removal of water above the azeotrope are:
- Azeotropic distillation with an entrainer
- Adsorption with molecular sieves
- Pervaporation, Vapour permeation
